Little Red

This is the direction my next project is heading. Fairy tales, maybe even getting a little grim.

I finally got my Etsy shop up and running. Taking orders as of today:) Take a look.

Character/Letter a Day E - Elephant

E is for Elephant.
This is Ella the Elephant.

Coloring on Ella is not quite up to par with the doodle, scanning has been my enemy this week. Bottom  image is from my iPhone, you can see the difference is significant. Any kind of advice would be welcome on how to make this color the same as the illustration. I have tried using levels in photoshop but to no avail.

OctoWoman

I have been working a lot. In between files uploading and downloading, I like to doodle. This is a doodle of a dream I keep having about my legs turning into octopus arms. One of my friends made a good point that I could buy more shoes. God knows I need more shoes.

What I am Working on Tuesday

I have been in a doodling mood lately with just pen and paper, letting my imagination run free. These are some of the characters I have come up with. I tend to veer towards drawing birds, have been for years, finally embracing it.
This little guy is titled "cock a doodle do," get it? My husband, Andrew, has stolen him for his own collection.
This is a new sketch book, I wanted to illustrate how Andrew and I might appear if we were animals. He is 6'6" in real life and I am 5'7", so there is quite the height discrepancy.
Andrew was unhappy being a giraffe so he created the bird on left to hang out with my bird on the right. He calls him the special birdie, but I think he is great!
Working from home one day, I had some spare time in between calls so I started with my name then doodled out. I am liking lines right now. We will see what medium next week brings.

This is my parents very judgmental Chihuahua. He was upset I was taking his pic after his bed time (8pm). Not a doodle, but noteworthy for sure.

R2D2 Meets My Wacom

Learned how to use the Wacom recently with the assistance of a tutorial. You really can learn anything with the assistance of google and a little search savvy. My inner nerd was pleased with the outcome of my little R2D2 character.

What I am Working on Tuesday!

I have been doing a lot of side work for family members and their Etsy shops. In this case, my sister in law's shop isn't up yet but this is the first rendition of the logo. We are thinking of maybe making the buttons on the tent top more realistic. Probably try a vector version as well. This is it for now.

830 Mile Mondays

This week Caitlin (Chattanooga) is in high gear getting ready for vacation. I (NYC) had a busy weekend and needed to get some grocery shopping and cooking done for the week. Those are our excuses on why we are so late with our entries.  See what 830 Mile Monday is here.

Category this week was animals: whatever medium* we wanted.
*without time on our side, we did these prior to this week, so this is our lazy way out.

I feel like braids are all the rave right now and I love the style so much I did a hand lettering sketch along those lines.

Day on A Plan (Weight Watchers)

So I joined WW about 1 month ago! Loving every minute of it and sometimes have little slip ups but it is nice to know I can still eat the things I love and lose weight...It's all about MODERATION people! I thought it would be fun to do my semi sketch a day according to what I have had to eat today!

One Minute of Puberty!

One Minute Puberty from bitteschön.tv on Vimeo.
Talk about an awesome idea. Thanks Nick Werber of A Million Years (one of my fave bands) for sharing this!

Marc Johns

Marc Johns, a illustrator based out of Canada, does amazingly humorous artwork! I love the pickle on the not so simplistic bicycle most of all! Please check him out here.
